Configuring Two Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-factor Authentication (2FA) is an additional security layer for your Messenger account. 2FA is an extra layer of security which will help keep your data safe, even if your password is compromised. Once you’ve set up 2FA, we will periodically ask you to verify your identity as part of our standard security process. To do this, we’ll send you a security code – use this when you log into your account.
2FA has many benefits, including:
- Enhanced Security. By requiring a second form of identity, 2FA decreases the probability an attacker can impersonate you and gain access to your account
- Safeguard your customers’ data. Protecting your account also protects your customers’ contact details and other data from hackers
- Increase secure online relationships. The additional layer of protection secures the site, promoting a secure brand experience for ongoing, trusted customer interactions

To set up 2FA on your account firstly login to your Messenger account. Go to Settings then navigate to the Security Options area.
