Connect Email to SMS
Your Messenger account allows you to send SMS texts from any email application – be it Outlook, Hotmail, your opt-in database or monitoring tool. Basically, if your system can send an email, you can send an SMS text! It is extremely simple and intuitive to use - simply send an email to anyMobileNumber@txtlocal.co.uk. - Simply send an email to anymobilenumber@txtlocal.co.uk from your registered Textlocal accounts address. To send from other addresses simply add them as aliases on your Settings->Email to SMS settings page.

- Multiple Recipients 1
- Send from 1 to 100,000 emails comma separating each address in the To: or CC: field of your email. E.g number1@txtlocal.co.uk, number2@txtlocal.co.uk
- Multiple Recipients 2
- You can send an Email to SMS message to a group you've already created on your Messenger account. To do this, send an email to tlgrpXXXX@txtlocal.co.uk, where XXXX is the group ID you want to send to. You can find the ID of a group by clicking on View Group ID in the advanced section of the Reports page in your Messenger account.
- Multiple Recipients 3
- In addition to the above, you can send GROUP=xx,xy,xz in the SUBJECT line of your email. XXXX is the group ID you want to send to. You can find the ID of a group by clicking on View Group ID in the advanced section of the Reports page in your Messenger account.
- Custom Sender Names
- Have your SMS text arrive on the recipients phone addressed from your name, company name or phone number. Either set as the default name in your Messenger->Email To SMS settings, or set sender=xxxx on the subject line.
- Schedule messages
- Set a future date/time to send your messages. Simply set sched=2011-01-27-17-50-00 in the subject line and we will send the SMS text at the correct time.
- Password security
- You can set a requirement to use a password for email to SMS via your Messenger->Email to SMS settings. You then add password=xxx to your subject line.
- Signature Remover
- You can easily remove signatures or company footers from your email if you don't want to include this in your email to text message. You can do this by including ## at the end of your message.
- Define Start Position
- In some rare cases, you may need to let us know where your message starts. If you need to, add #%# before your message.
- Network Operators
- We only use premium network operators (e.g. Vodafone, O2 etc.) to deliver texts to the UK (not lower cost foreign or economy routes). All international texts are also delivered using the major networks of that country.
- Send to Landlines
- Send SMS texts to BT landlines by using a numeric Sender Name. Text must be sent between 8am and 10pm
- 612 Character Texts
- Send SMS Texts up to 612 characters long
- Delivery Reports
- Full delivery reports are available to track delivered, undelivered and invalid numbers
- Twitter
- You can also send your message to twitter - by including twitter@txtlocal.co.uk - this will add your message to your own twitter feed, as configured from our Messenger.
